My Review:
This was such a sweet book. I laughed, I cried, I swooned. I usually have a hard time reading books where the kids are abused or the parents just don’t pay much attention to them. I don’t know why but I just don’t like reading about it. At all. So, once I got into this book and saw that it was in this book, I was a little concerned. I ended up loving this book though. They don’t let their family life destroy them. I think it was written so well and that the kids really handled it very maturely.
The romance aspect was adorable at first! They were so clueless that even just talking to each other was such a treat for both of them. The first time they held hands was so sweet! As the book went on, things started to heat up. They were so clueless but were learning things together. It really fit in the book perfectly, but I would not recommend this book to young teens because of this part.
The ending was rough for me. I like books that give me absolute closure and are happy endings. This book didn’t give me that. Some people might say it was an absolute ending, but I still have questions. In my mind, it was a happy ending. It’s still bittersweet though. I don’t want to give it away, but no matter how I spin the ending, it’s not perfect. They had hard lives and sometimes things can’t end with a fairy tale ending, although I like to think they can. All in all, I loved this book.
