The Boyfriend App by Katie Sise

Goodreads Summary:
In The Boyfriend App by Katie Sise, super-smart, somewhat geeky Audrey McCarthy can’t wait to get out of high school. Her father’s death and the transformation of her one-time BFF, Blake Dawkins, into her worst nightmare have her longing for the new start college will bring.

But college takes money. So Audrey decides she has to win the competition for the best app designed by a high schooler—and the $200,000 that comes with it. She develops something she calls the Boyfriend App, and suddenly she’s the talk of the school and getting kissed by the hottest boys around. But can the Boyfriend App bring Audrey true love?

My Review:
This book was not as amazing as I hoped it would be, but it was still a really cute book. My main complaint was all of the science and technology involved. I was not expecting it to be that in depth. At times it bored me, and at times I did not understand it. That is my only complaint though.

There was a lot of drama that I did not really anticipate either, but it really helped move the book along. It kept it interesting and kept the story moving. (Slight spoiler –>) I was disappointed with the way things ended between her and her childhood friend. There was a little bit of them being reunited, but I would have liked more.

All of the characters were great, and worked so well in the story! Audrey was a great main character, and I felt like I could relate to her in many ways (besides the obvious computer genius part). Lindsay was an awesome friend to Audrey. I loved how loyal she was, even when it hurt herself. Aidan was just precious. I am pretty sure I fell in love with him while reading this book. I don’t know what else to say about him. He was just perfect and so, so sweet!
